Electronic Technician

 

 

The qualifed candidate is responsible for performing repairs on customer returned articles, articles associated with ODA project aircraft, as well as Company core property.

 

Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

·         Evaluate, test, troubleshoot, and repair flight control system electronic articles to the component level

·         Provide limited dealer / customer feedback as required relating to defects found, anticipated completion date, and repair costs

·         Provide feedback to the Repair Station Supervisor relating to developing trends, product deficiencies, and possible product improvements

·         Complete required repair station records in accordance with the repair station procedures, quality control, and forms manuals

·         Read and interpret engineering specifications, drawings, schematics, and utilize Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM’s) to accomplish the necessary repairs

·         Operate common test equipment such as oscilloscope, DMM, signal generator, ARINC 429 generator, and specialized test equipment designed by S-TEC

 

Capabilities

The candidate must possess a two year degree or trade school certificate in electronics technology or a minimum of three years related experience and training, or a combination of education and experience.  FCC license, FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certificate, and/or FAA Pilot certificate a plus.

 

 

 

Systems / Software Avionic Displays Engineer

 

The qualified candidate will be responsible for performing as part of a team to define, design, support and certify avionic displays for Part 23, 25, 27, and Part 29 applications.

 

Specific and detailed responsibilities will include the following:

·         Support the creation and modification of the system architecture, requirements and design for new and existing Display products

·         Perform integration testing and assist in flight testing of the company’s products

·         Generate system and software specific requirements that meet both customer specifications and FAA requirements (FARs and ACs)

·         Write C software to implement developed algorithms that satisfy system requirements

·         Using the existing system and software processes in place, lead system engineering efforts to support the achievement of major and minor TSOs for existing displayproducts which involve the following:  requirements, design, reviews, checklists, integration testing, system Verification &Validation activities

·         Support FAA Stage Of Involvement (SOI) audits for TSO certification

·         Interface with the customer and be able to travel to customer sites when necessary

·         Be able to analyze and report on the contents of a product’s System Safety Assessment (SSA) using the applicable Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEAs), Fault Tree Analysis (FTAs), and/or Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA).

 

Capabilities

The candidate will have at least 5 years of requirements writing, design, test and certification experience in the aviation/avionics field.  The candidate will have at least 5 years of experience designing, testing, and certifying Avionic Display Systems. 

 

Required Capabilities:

·         Avionics display design

·         Understand and write “C" software

·         Experience supporting Flight Test

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Independent thinker

·         Team oriented

 

Desired Capabilities:

·         Airplane or Helicopter pilot’s license (big plus)

·         Experience with DOORs (DOORS is the requirements organization tool that the Company uses).

  

 

System / Software Avionic Control Laws Engineer

 

The qualified candidate will be responsible in defining, designing, supporting and certifying control laws for Part 23, 25, 27, and Part 29 autopilots.

Specific and detailed responsibilities will include the following:     

·         Lead and support the development of the system architecture and system design for new autopilot products or new functionality to existing products

·         Using the existing system and software processes in place, lead system engineering efforts to support the achievement of major and minor TSOs for existing products which involve the following:  requirements, design, reviews, checklists, integration testing, system V&V activities

·         Perform flight test engineering duties to test products in normal flight conditions

·         Generate system and software specific requirements that meet both customer specifications and FAA requirements (FARs and ACs)

·         Support FAA SOI audits for TSO certification

·         Be able to develop and analyze System Safety Assessment (SSA) and Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA) documents.

 

Capabilities

The candidate will have at least 5 years of requirements writing, design, test and certification experience in the aviation/avionics field.  The candidate will have at least 5 years of experience designing, testing, and certifying Avionic Flight Control Systems. 

 

Required Capabilities:

·         Avionics control law design

·         Understand and write “C" software

·         Experience supporting Flight Test

·         Flight Management System (FMS) experience

·         ARINC 429

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Independent thinker

·         Team oriented

Electrical Hardware Engineer


The qualified candidate will be responsible for performing as part of a team to define, design, support and certify avionic hardware products

 

Specific and detailed responsibilities will include the following related to the company’s avionic products:

·         Support the creation and modification of the hardware architecture, hardware requirements and hardware design for new and existing products.

·         Support production by providing guidance on issues such as obsolescence

·         Support Hardware/Software integration testing and assist in flight testing  of the company’s products

·         Develop Environmental Qualification Test Plans for DO-160 Lab testing

·         Oversee DO-160 Environmental Lab testing of company products

·         Develop Product Acceptance Test Procedures (ATPs) for production to verify proper functionality of products

·         Write C software to implement developed algorithms that satisfy system requirements

·         Interface with the customer and be able to travel to customer sites when necessary

·         Be able to document the reliability of a product through the creation of a Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEAs) document.

 

Capabilities

The candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in designing, testing and certifying avionic related hardware products. 

 

Required Capabilities:

·         PCB design, Altium or Pads Experience

·         Ability to design and understand basic circuitry

·         Ability to design and understand low level programming

·         CAD software (Autocad or Solidworks)

·         Knowledge of DO-160 Environmental Testing

·         Understand and write “C" software

·         Excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Independent thinker

·         Team oriented

 

Desired Capabilities:

·         Knowledge of Relex Reliability Application

·         Low Level Firmware design; BIOS programming

·         Airplane or Helicopter pilot’s license (big plus)

·         8086 PCB experience (big plus)

 

 

 

 ODA/STC Project Manager

 

The ODA/STC Project Manager initiates, participates in, and manages new and/or amended STC projects, both inside and outside the S-TEC ODA, at the direction of the ODA Administrator.  Duties will be extended to performing systems tasks in support of TSO projects.

 

Roles and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

·         Assess and plan compliance with regulatory requirements for the application of avionics and flight control systems

·         Generate certification plans and compliance checklists

·         Determine appropriate designee oversight

·         Create parts lists, and master drawing lists for use in FAA approved STC data packages

·         Create component and system test plans/reports to support regulatory compliance

·         Create analyses to support regulatory compliance

·         Create Instructions for Continued Airworthiness

·         Review installation drawings/documents and reports/analyses for completeness and accuracy as part of the project approval

·         Manage the certification and compliance aspects of the projects

·         Will require some interface with FAA DERs, ODA Unit Members, and/or FAA
